lindsey avenetti, artistic director
For the last 10 years, Lindsey has been able to create her career in hairdressing from a place of ease and enthusiasm. Doing what has come naturally, she has expanded into many different forms of expression, while keeping hair as her backbone. Taking off in 2003, apprenticing in one of the Portland's oldest and finest landmark salons, she received extensive hands on training with many Goldwell color masters. With 30+ advanced cut and color training courses completed in that first year alone, Lindsey went on to teach the salon's apprenticing program for the next 3 years.
Her involved relationship to color and structure led to a career in freelance hair styling and make up artistry. Stepping away from the chair in 2007, Lindsey continued to hone her skills as a session stylist, leading to a deep understanding in head and face shape, as well as contouring. Having spent a bulk of her time traveling in and out of the country for commercials, advertising and fashion print, she, now, couldn't be happier to have built a home like J A M E S where she can blend her editorial expertise with her clients needs, when she isn't on the road.
Drawing most of her inspiration from timeless photography, her personal style is effortless, sexy and cool. Her client's hair will be reflective of style, as opposed to trend. Classic, casual, moveable and minimal. Following natural intuition as she delivers colors that exist in nature (sometimes) and cuts adapted from the streets of the worlds most stylish cities. With lending her hands to all types: artists, athletes and professionals alike continually keep Lindsey's creativity intact.
